Is the 70’s really the best era for summer fashion? A number of people seem to think so. As your suppliers of ladies fashion online, today we are asking if you would trade your 90’s look for some trendy 70s fashion?
A few months back you may remember that we wrote a piece called ‘A Change In Trend’ discussing the fact that although 2016 seems to be the start of a 90’s fashion revival, there are those who are still looking to the 1970’s for their summer wardrobe inspiration. Well, it seems that a few online publications seem to agree and there has been more talk online this week about people snubbing the idea of a 90’s revival, in favour of a classy 70’s look.
I’m afraid that I am inclined to agree with those who favour the fashion of the 1970s. Do not get me wrong, I have some fond memories of my 90’s wardrobe, but therein lies the problem… only some fond memories. For the most part, 90’s fashion was absolutely terrible. The likes of Kate Moss and Julia Roberts aside, to name but two of the era’s icons, who managed to look stunning no matter what clothes the decade through at them, the rest of us struggled to find that balance between looking effortlessly cool and fashionable at the same time.
It is my opinion though that you would not have the same struggle with a glamorous 70s inspired clothing. So is it time to forget about those plain white tees, frayed jeans, overstretched cardigans and bubble jackets? Well, in short… Yes!
The 90’s was not without its summer wear, but nothing comes close to the fashion that was on offer in the 70’s. From the beach, to a night out on the town, 70’s inspired fashion is perfect for adding some nonchalant charm into your summer wardrobe. Maxi dresses, flared trousers, lace-up blouses and tops, is just about everything that you summer wardrobe will need.
