The day has finally arrived, Star Wars: The Force Awakens had its first viewing at midnight and the most anticipated film of the year is now available to view in cinemas near you. Unless you’re a Star Wars fan, you probably won’t be too fussed but we bet you’ll go and watch it anyway. We’re huge Star Wars fan here at our ladies fashion online retailer and we can’t wait to watch ‘The Force Awakens’ at the weekend.
Now, because it’s Star Wars season, we thought we would dedicate this blog to the Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiere that took place in Los Angeles on Monday and showcase what the stars of the box office film wore on the red carpet.
John Boyega who plays the leading role of Finn, dazzled us with a royal purple suit, accompanied with a black bow tie. Daisy Ridley who plays Rey, wore a gorgeous and delicate white polka dotted dress with a lace trim. It was absolutely stunning.
More commonly known for her role as Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones, Gwenddine Christie who plays Captain Phasma in the new Star Wars film wore a striking layered dress consisting of white and grey colours with a black bowtie. Her outfit co-ordinated with the Stormtroopers.
Snap Wexley, played by Greg Grunberg, wore a dark silver tie to accompany his metal toned black suit. Now to the main man, Harrison Ford. Irrisistable to the eye, Hans Solo wore a casual yet classic unbuttoned powder blue shirt and black suit jacket and trousers. We have a soft spot for Harrison Ford and he may have opted for a casual look, he still won us over.
Carrie Fisher, who plays the role of Princess Leia, a firm favourite from the Star Wars films, chose an elegant navy blue velvet floorless dress and blue suede shoes.
And finally, playing the role of the Pirate Queen Maz Kanata, Lupita Nyong’o wore a graceful silver sequined floorless dress with cut-outs on the waist, boasting a gorgeous mermaid shimmer. It truly was a divine choice of dress to wear.
We mentioned Harrison Ford as the main man, but the real star from the Star Wars premiere is no other than director Steven Spielberg, who wore a classic yet stated dinner jacket and jeans.
